From "Candle in the Wind" to "Tiny Dancer" to "Rocket Man," another amazing fact about Elton John is that he writes these songs in an extremely short time. He sits down behind a piano when he's in the mood and pumps out instant classics like it's the easiest thing in the world.
While we're all well aware of his skill behind the piano and his lyrical talents, a man came up to him with a rather bizarre request. He wanted one of the greatest musicians of our time to sing a song on the spot. While that sounds easy enough for someone as talented as Elton John, the request soon got a bit stranger when the fan brought out the lyrics for Elton to follow.
The instructions that came with his new oven. No rhyming, no real rhythm. This man wanted to see if the master wordsmith would be able to make silk out of a sow's ear.
After a few moments of attempting to piece together the "lyrics" from the instruction booklet, Elton sat down behind the piano and got to work.
Within seconds, Elton showed the whole audience why he is where he is today. This man somehow made a beautiful new song from something as simple and uninspiring as an instruction manual!
