Woman Reunites With Dog After Thief Tries To Sell Him On Craigslist

Francesca Rodriguez was in tears when she was reunited with her Doberman Pincher Thor after he was stolen.

Unlike the family who got their dog back after seven years, Rodriguez was without her pooch for only a week. Of course, for any dog owner, that can seem like a lifetime.

“He was shocked,” she told Detroit’s WXYZ of their reunion. “You could tell he was traumatized and scared. He’s got all kinds of lacerations on his stomach and elbows… poor baby.”

The dog is believed to have been stolen by someone who pried open her fence and then tried to sell him on Craigslist. The ad with Thor's photo was quickly deleted, according to Rodriguez.

“We were getting tips that he was taken or got loose and was taken. Somebody scooped him up trying to make a quick dollar on Craigslist and then, you know, let him go,” she said.

Rodriguez and her family posted “Lost Dog” signs around the neighborhood hoping to get their beloved red Doberman back. The pain of losing a pet was clearly understood at the :30 mark where she breaks down in tears.

Luckily, a resident named Nick Consiglio happened to see the dog during a fishing trip.

“We noticed the signs they were really well printed. Somebody really spent some money to save this dog,” Consiglio told the news station. “It just so happened that we were going out fishing and saw the dog coming around the corner so we started chasing him down and called Francesca.”
