Leaving your child in the hands of another is a nerve-racking reality. Anything can happen when parents put them on the bus to school, when they're at school, and even when they're at friends' houses.
But as a parent, you would never think that your child would ever be left unsupervised in any of these situations, especially if they are very young.
In one father's case, he's absolutely furious that his 5-year-old son was left unattended. But that's not all — Stephen Cole's son Gabriel is also autistic.
The dad says that his little boy got distracted while waiting to file into class. He ended up wandering away from the group, unbeknownst to his teachers and supervisors.
Luckily, another parent, present for the school's "Grandparents Day," saw the child's backpack on the ground. Gabriel was located, and brought back among his peers.
But the dad knows how lucky both he and his son are: The person who grabbed his hand could have been anyone, and could have had malicious motives. Now, he wants answers, and reassurance that this won't happen again to his child or any other.
Has this ever happened in your child's school, or to a parent you know? What would you do if you saw someone else's unsupervised child? Let us know in the comments!
