It's not every day that you'll hear about a 10-year-old boy from Canada who can play guitar and sing the blues like an old Southern soul. It's even more rare to find a boy like this who is so young, so talented and yet can not see, but that's the exact story of Félix.
Félix De St-Hilaire is a young boy from Quebec who was born three months premature with detached retinas. and will never be able to see naturally. He attends a camp run by Quebec Foundation for the Blind, where he learned to express himself through music and filmed the following video in his adorable PJ's.
At 6 years old, Félix got his start playing guitar when he shocked his parents by teaching himself to play by listening to the radio. One day, his mother heard him playing the blues and thought it must be the radio. She was shocked that her young son was a fan of blues classics like B.B. King, Charley Patton and Robert Johnson and could play their songs by ear.
Félix's mother says that her son doesn't speak much and has difficulty speaking to others. Music has given him a rare outlet to express him feelings. Check out Félix perfectly performing B.B. King's classic "Every Day I Have The Blues" and enjoy the beautiful, moving power of music!
