He Took A Pile Of Junk And Created Something SPECTACULAR! At :13, My Jaw Dropped! OMG!

Every so often a piece of artwork comes around that completely blows my mind and reminds me how rewarding thinking outside the box can be. What may look like a regular old pile of junk at one angle, can turn into something completely different when you see it from somewhere else.

This is the exact concept that makes artist Bernard Pras' incredible anamorphic portrait of the late fellow French artist Ferdinand Cheval so amazing. The portrait was created using perspectival anamorphosis, meaning that Cheval's face is only visible from a specific viewing point.

The portrait of Cheval is on display at Le Palais idéal, a monumental sculptural installation that Cheval, who was a postman by trade, built in his backyard from 1879-1912. Check out some photos from the incredible exhibit and the video below to see Pras' amazing work below.
