Did you know that a female moose weighs between 400 and 800 pounds?
That is actually surprisingly lower than I thought, but the male moose weighs over twice as much! We know that, but I am not sure they realize that.
A moose in Canada was trying to cross over a frozen river but didn't realize her weight was too much for the thin ice. She fell in and could not get out on her own.
Luckily for her, someone saw her struggling in the Shediac River and got help. Firefighters from the Shediac Fire Department were on the scene first thing that morning to help.
The video shows them bravely helping this animal, even with the risk of them falling in the water too. They used axes to break the ice around her.
After over an hour of work, the firefighters were able to get her free and lead her safely to shore. She didn't exactly stop to say thank you, but I'm sure she was very grateful for the help!
