John Hughes couldn’t have written a better ’80s teen movie plot. In 1982, five high school buds as tight as the kids from The Breakfast Club took a trip to a lake cabin and snapped a picture.
After the picture was taken, one friend got a case of the sads and suggested, “what if we’re not friends 20 years from now?” The boys, who considered themselves brothers, decided at that moment to make a pact: In order to stay in touch throughout their adulthood, every five years they would meet up at the same cabin and take the same photo — on the same bench, sitting in the same order, striking the same poses, and making the same facial directions.
These friends — John Wardlaw, Mark Runner, Dallas Burney, John Molony, and John Dickson — did just that! Thirty years later they’ve compiled seven photos and its fascinating to see them age throughout the years…
