The death of a set of 3-year-old Florida twins has been ruled a homicide.
On March 20, a 35-year-old mother, Andrea Langhorst, was mysteriously found dead in her car along with her twins, Olivia and Adam Dryer. The children were also deceased. The car had been parked in a Melbourne, Florida, parking lot.
An autopsy was performed days later. Now the coroner has released the cause of death for all three of the deceased, and it has been confirmed that the children died at the hands of their own mother.
Medical examiners for Brevard County ruled that the twins were each given a fatal overdose. Their cause of death was methamphetamine toxicity. The deaths have been ruled homicides.
Langhorst died from meth and cocaine intoxication. Her death has been ruled a suicide.
People reached out to the Melbourne Police Department once the autopsies were released, but they declined to comment.
Andrea Langhorst's father, Randy Langhorst, previously spoke to People, saying, "It's a really difficult time." He added, "We're just playing the waiting game to get closure on it, to see what exactly happened."
At the time, the information the family had was very limited. Randy said he was hoping the autopsy findings would bring some "closure" to the horrific ordeal. "I just know they were in the car in the heat of Florida for a few days," he said.
"We didn't have to identify the bodies, the police were able to do it with the photographs we gave them. I can't imagine myself or my ex-wife having to do that."
