Fred Astaire is one of those names that will forever be ingrained into the American psyche on what it means to be "classy."
This guy was the consummate professional in every sense of the word, and he always somehow managed to keep up a jovial attitude no matter what life threw his way! Astaire will always be remembered as one of America's treasures, and when you see his incredible performance below, you'll easily understand why he is still talked about to this day!
From an episode of The Hollywood Palace, this vintage 1966 clip of Astaire dancing with none other than the incredible Barrie Chase is guaranteed to give you pangs of nostalgia all throughout their stunning piece.
It should be noted that Chase is only 33-years-old in this performance; and while Astaire is pushing 67, he still manages to keep up with her on every single step. Astaire really took his craft seriously, and when you see their wonderful performance titled, "Re-animated mannequin dance," you'll agree that these two dancers were meant for the stage!
It's a shame that they don't have more performers like this today, the vaudevillian talents of the classic "song and dance man" have long since disappeared with time; hopefully someone will eventually break through the clutter and bring entertainment back to how it's supposed to be, entertaining!
Please SHARE this amazing performance if you think they don't make em like they used to!
