Ever since Google Earth came out in 2004, people around the planet have used it to check out the world around them from a whole new view. Whether you wanted to see the Eiffel Tower without leaving your couch or just see what your house looks like from above, this technology has revolutionized the way we access different places around the globe… even if we aren't actually setting foot on the ground there. But along with all the beautiful landscapes and detailed images captured by Google's satellites and Street View cars, there have also been some funny and downright freaky pictures that can be found on Google Earth.
Google Earth's technology has come a long way from the blurry images we saw when we first downloaded it onto our computers. Now, we can see these awesome, but creepy images taken of an abandoned town in St. Louis. In addition to taking a digital walk through entire towns, Google Earth also enables us to find some fascinating landmarks and mysterious objects that many experienced travelers wouldn't even be able to encounter.
