Antique German Silver Music Boxes Feature Adorable Birds That Pop Out And Sing

This quick clip from The Antiques Roadshow features a beautiful pair of German made silver music boxes that are amazing to look at from the outside as well as the interior.

The interview begins with some family history on the two objects. We find out that the owner inherited one from her mother and the other an old aunt. Beautifully done in German silver, these high-quality boxes were made in the mid to late 19th century.

Along with a cute bird-shaped brass key, expert Frank Boos winds the two boxes up, and that's when this video gets to be adorable. Two beautifully colored little baby birds suddenly pop out, and when you see them you won't be able to keep from smiling!

Chirping with all of their might, these two animated birds sound a bit like the Star Trek's bridge, beeping and squeaking to their heart's content. While one of the birds seems to have a defective wing, that doesn't make him any less beautiful to look at!

Even though the appraisal isn't as much as you would expect, you have to admit that having either one of these beautifully crafted pieces of history would be a wonderful addition to anyone's living room.
