Heavy rains are wreaking havoc in the many Southern states, some of which have seen record flooding. There have been street closures, destroyed homes, and unfortunate deaths.
While many residents have been forced to evacuate their residencies in states including Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, others are unable to leave their four walls because of the rising water.
That's the case for Tisha Brooks' mother, whose house is barricaded as a result of the violent weather conditions. In turn, Brooks wasn't able to get to her mother to give her her medication.
But, as we've seen from other natural disasters around the world, strangers are coming together to help each other out.
A construction worker fixing a nearby roof came to Brooks' aid. He offered to drive her through the dangerous conditions with his flatbed truck so that Brooks could make sure her mother was doing well.
The man's kind gesture is just a little more proof that Good Samaritans are all around us and eager to lend a helping hand even when there's no gift in return.
"I feel good for what I did," the man told Jackson's WAPT, adding that he's willing to do even more.
