The 2015 graduating class of Hylton High School had no idea their special day was going to make national news for the best possible reason.
It all started when graduating senior, Parker Haller, put his best foot forward. While for most people, receiving the diploma is the most important part of the day, for Haller it was the journey to get there that mattered the most.
The Woodbrudge, VA teenager suffered a horrible spinal cord injury during a diving accident three years ago. At first, doctors were nearly positive that he would never be able to walk again. But after hard work and pushing through the pain of physical therapy, this teenager set one titanic goal for himself: to walk come graduation day.
When his name was called to receive his high school diploma he was slowly wheeled up onstage. Slowly but surely he stood up, and with determination he slowly walked towards his goal. Make sure to watch the video below to witness the response from his overjoyed classmates.
While Haller set and completed an impressive goal, he's just now set up his next goal. To walk with absolutely no assistance from any kind of device. For someone who was told he'd never be able to walk again, his story just goes to show you that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it!
