Bus Driver Pulls Up To Stop At 3 A.M., Then Spots Shivering Toddler Waiting To Board In The Rain

As a Philadelphia bus driver, Harlan Jenifer was going through the regular motions at 3 a.m. Then he realized that this particular night was going to be a very interesting one.

As Harlan he pulled over to his next stop, he spotted something he never expected to see. The bus driver opened his doors to a wet, shivering toddler waiting to board the bus in the rain. Although he was stunned, he knew it was safer for her to get on the bus than to stay outside alone at that late hour.

In the video below posted on March 30, 2015, Harlan lets her take a seat. He keeps his eyes on the little girl named Annabelle as he continues on his route.

Then, Annabelle announces why she was out this late in the first place. She announces to the other passengers that she's looking for a store where she can buy a slushie, one of her favorite treats, despite the chilly weather.

The bus driver finishes his route and holds the toddler on his bus as he calls the police.

Eventually, the authorities arrive and assist Harlan in getting Annabelle back to her parents, who were most likely sleeping during everything.

When Annabelle is finally back in her relieved parents' arms, the adorable little girl asks if she can finally get that slushie.

Her mom laughs and tells her, "I will take you to Wawa to buy a slushie, but listen — promise me next time you'll wait for me."
