While cats and dogs are the most common types of pets, some people like to have more unique and exotic animals in their homes. What you might find interesting is that hermit crabs are easy and economical to care for, and actually make a good "starter pet."
Hermit crabs may not be as cuddly as a puppy, but they are fun to play with and can live a very long time with the proper care and habitat. What's even cooler is that, over time, you can see the animal change its shell. In the following video, one hermit crab owner was actually able to capture his pet doing exactly that.
