Cheesecake The Loving Capybara Fosters Baby Puppies In Her Free Time

Capybaras are the world's largest rodents. While that may make it seem as if they wouldn't make caring and loving parents, you'd be surprised what the 150-lb. animals are capable of!

At Rocky Ridge Rescue, the main caretaker, Janice, does her best to take care of a huge number of abandoned animals. But when she was given a litter of puppies, she knew she was not the best woman for the job. The sacred duty of acting as a foster mom fell onto the broad shoulders of Cheesecake the capybara.

Even though Cheesecake hasn't had her own baby capybaras, her mothering instincts kick right in when she comes across tiny little puppies. She looks after them, plays with them, sleeps with them; this big rodent knows exactly what she has to do in order to make her precious babies happy!

Capybaras in the wild take care of each other's young, so this isn't as strange as you'd initially think. This "animal odd couple," might seem weird at first, but when you watch the calm nature that this mother has with her sprightly puppy youngsters, you'll easily agree that she's the best mom for the job!

Thank you for the amazing people who spend their time and money to look after animals in need, and thank goodness for Cheesecake the foster mom!
