I've definitely had that moment of panic when I realized I've lost something valuable. Sometimes, the outcome isn't great and I never find the item again, while other times they magically show up.
Daisy Owen of Bolton, England, never thought she'd see her purse with all of her belongings — including an iPhone and cash — ever again.
But after two days, a homeless man named Paul tracked her down because he had found her purse.
"I lost my bag at the weekend which had my iPhone 6s+, my purse, keys and provisional in, and I have been absolutely heartbroken," Daisy wrote on Facebook. "He is homeless and currently living in a hostel yet still didn’t take A PENNY out of it. "
He had spent days searching for her and was about to go to her house to give her back her purse. Daisy uploaded a lengthy note about what had happened and included photos of Paul and a note he wrote her to her Facebook page on September 17, 2017. Since posting, it has received thousands of reactions and shares.

PLEASE SHARE Finally got some faith in humanity! Some of my Bolton friends might know this man as the famous ‘P******* Paul’. I lost my bag at the weekend which had my iPhone 6s+, my purse, keys and provisional in and I have been absolutely heartbroken. This man has been above and beyond and found my bag Saturday morning and spent TWO DAYS walking around asking and trying to find me, and was just on his way to my home address to try and return my bag to me personally! He was terrified of letting any of the other homeless people in Bolton know he had found this bag, or the police seeing him with it in case he was accused of stealing so he has spent the weekend walking around with this letter so he didn’t get in trouble. I am so grateful and so happy that there are people like this in the world. He is homeless and currently living in a hostel yet still didn’t take A PENNY out of it. There needs to be more people like this in the world. WE NEED TO GET THIS MAN OFF THE STREETS!
EDIT – I HAVE MADE A GOFUNDME PAGE TO HELP THIS MAN. Please donate, even if it’s a few pounds. I am determined to help this man get a home https://www.gofundme.com/get-paul-a-home*

Daisy took a photo of Paul holding her purse, and commenters from all over said how amazing of a gesture it was and proof to never judge a book by its cover.
"I am so grateful and so happy that there are people like this in the world," she wrote on Facebook.

Paul also wrote a three-page letter because he was frightened he would be accused of stealing the purse when he was actually searching for the owner.
"I am an honest man," he wrote on the first page.

On the second page, Paul went on to say that he planned on doing his own investigating to find Daisy and reunite her with the purse.
"I want to locate the true owner and personally hand all her belongings back to her," he wrote. "To me it feels so good to do the right thing."

On the last page, Paul says that there is nothing missing out of the bag and he can't wait for the girl to get her stuff back.
He also mentions that he's glad no one else was with him when he found it because they would have wanted to keep or sell the possessions.
"There needs to be more people like this in the world," Daisy wrote.
As a way to thank him, Daisy went above and beyond, just like him, and started raising money to help him.

To thank Paul for returning her purse, Daisy started a GoFundMe page to help raise money so the homeless man can get a house.
So far, the campaign has raised £2,496 ($3,368.60) in just five days.
