A group of farmers are being hailed heroes after they banded together to save a horse that had wandered into a muddy salt marsh in North Gower, Wales and became almost completely submerged.
According to Sky News, the horse began to sink in the mud and was unable to get back out. The horse spent the evening crying for help before he was finally discovered by a group of farmers.
The farmers used ropes and ladders to help lift the horse out of the marsh. After attaching the ropes to a quad bike, they were able to get the submerged horse back on dry ground.
From the man who saved a trapped fox to the woman who rescued a hedgehog from her pool, we know that heroes are always amongst us. Some of our favorite heroes at LittleThings.com are the ones that put it all on the line in order to save animals in trouble.
The rescue took two hours and thankfully the horse survived to get back on its feet. Fortunately, those farmers had very big hearts and refused to give up, even when the outlook didn't look good.
