Baltimore Police Officer Jon Boyer still can't believe the international fame he's gained after photos of him holding kittens made their rounds on the internet. Boyer says that he and his fellow officers rescue animals all the time, but no one ever could have guessed how much attention "hot cop" Boyer would receive from the ladies.
The 26-year-old officer's heartthrob status began when someone at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter snapped a photo of him with a sweet kitten he rescued. The photo received thousands of likes and comments about his selfless acts and handsome good looks. It was seen by Baltimore's Show Your Soft Side campaign, which helps abused animals, who asked Boyer to model and be in their "Pawject Runway" fundraising event.
A Facebook page called 'I Love Jon Boyer' has prompted fans around the globe to send messages about Boyer's marital status. The hunky officer has been a Baltimore cop for four years and has had 6 different cats, all but two being cats he rescued. "I used to hang posters in my room of cats, because I loved them,' he said. 'My parents always wondered why I didn't like dogs. I love dogs, but cats are kinda my thing.", said Boyer.

Boyer, pictured, has always had a soft spot for animals and regularly drops off stray cats and dogs he finds around the city to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter.
Boyer believes the picture went viral because "the whole guy in a police uniform with a kitten makes people melt."
