There's nothing quite like an unexpected cameo in your photos. Known as "photobombing," it's when someone sneaks up and appears in a photo. It's charming and cute, but sometimes, it's downright amazing.
That's what 24-year-old Will Rosner found out while diving in Tonga in the South Pacific. While floating in the clearblue waters, Rosner was lucky enough to spend six whole hours with several humpback whales.
Friendly, sensitive, and curious, the whales swam right up to Rosner and danced, sang, and one even lifted Rosner right out of the water with its tail. Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Whales are massive, of course, but seen in their natural habitat, they're stunningly graceful. Rosner's experience sounds like a fairy tale, and it reminds us all of the incredible creatures that share our planet, and how rich and beautiful the variety of life really is.

Will Rosner is a carpenter by trade, but for the past 18 months, he's been traveling the world.
Recently, he and a friend were free-diving the Vava'u passage in Tonga, when they found themselves surrounded by humpback whales.
"Me and the crew swam all day with almost a dozen whales," Rosner says. "Including a docile mother and her very playful calf."
You can see the calf in this photo, near the middle of the frame.
The whales were gentle and playful, but Rosner never forgot their sheer power.
"Apparently all her scars are from defending her calves from orcas," he says of this female whale. "I was half the size of one of [her] flippers."
The whales twirled and danced in the water around the humans, seemingly just as curious as they were.
Rosner describes the incredible moment of making eye contact with one of the whales, and then being lifted right out of the water with its tail!
And during a quick breather at the surface, Will snapped this amazing picture, complete with a whale friend in the background!
Whales weren't the only creatures Rosner got to see, either. He also spotted this dolphin family, with a little baby diving between its mom and dad.
And there were some rays, too.
It was truly an amazing, unforgettable experience, and one that Rosner is happy to share with the world.
And the photos also remind us that we're not the only creatures on the planet, and we have to make sure beautiful animals like this are kept safe.
