It Looks Like A Door In A Dune…But When You Open It? I NEED THIS!!

Lots of fascinating things can be found underground. Sometimes you can find a mysterious bunker. Other times you stumble upon a secret wine cellar. Once in a while you may even happen upon a secret room…filled with creepy dolls.

But every now and again,  you can unearth a real gem underground — or build one of your own.

We have showcased many amazing, pint-sized homes on LittleThings, but this one is truly a treasure.

When Hurricane Dora hit in 1964, she left behind a dune on a piece of property in Florida. Fortunately, the pile of sand was left on a really creative man’s property, and that man was architect William Morgan. Yet, the dune sat there for an entire decade before Morgan’s brilliant idea hit him like a tropical storm — instead of building a structure upon the dune, why not build into it?

Hence, the creation of the Dune House!

The space inside of the underground structure is only 750 square feet.

Built in 1975, the two-story suite has sunny living spaces on the lower level and features a lovely terrace.
