In LA, there's an actual law that states you'll be fined if you're caught walking your dog without a leash, but it's not a law that's been heavily enforced – until now.
City lawmakers are getting ready to hit pet owners with a fine of $100 (which goes up with each infraction) if they're caught walking their dog anywhere without a leash. Big dogs, small dogs, it's doesn't matter – if they're not on a leash, you're getting fined.
What's your opinion on this law? Should dogs always be kept on a leash when they're in a public space, or should owners be trustworthy enough to know when their pet is safe to walk without one? Would you want this enforced in your city?
