Who knew that sheep dogs could be the future of beach conservation?! Every year, seagulls bring E. coli to North American beaches, and it can be very dangerous for humans, animals and plants.
Researchers at Central Michigan University have been working hard for the past two years on an experiment which proves that Border Collie's can be very effective at keeping seagulls away from the sand and decreasing E. coli amounts. I know I'll be at the beach all the time this summer. This makes me love Border Collie's even more! What a genius idea. Please SHARE if you love dogs who do things for a greater good!
