Mom Warns Parents About A Terrifying Skin Infection Children Can Catch Anywhere

When you have kids, you're constantly on high alert for the latest disease or sickness to be sweeping schools. Many parents know about the common ailments and conditions, like lice and the chicken pox — but some have been ignored, and it's only when they affect their children that they understand how many types of diseases their children risk contracting on a daily basis.

Although one mom was as careful as she could be, she had no idea that a specific bacterial infection in particular could be so painful once contracted. Chances are, you haven't heard of impetigo, but it can gravely affect your children.

Because kids are more likely to run around, scrape their skin, and touch many bacteria-covered objects and then touch their sores (a practice adults know not to do), bacteria can enter their bodies.

Impetigo, once in the body, can cause painful sores and blisters that scab over. The bacteria is more likely to spread trough skin-to-skin contact, and damp surfaces are ideal breeding grounds.

This mom saw her kids' sores within two days of returning from a splash pad, and didn't know exactly how her kids could have contracted the bacterial infection.

Now this mom is warning other parents to closely monitor their kids, and to teach them to avoid touching any open wounds.
