Clever Crafter Covers His Entire Sitting Room With Books

There's nothing like sitting down and reading a good book. Books allow their readers to escape to another world while they're sitting in the comfort of their own living rooms.

What do people do with books that have come to an end? Most of the time, they sit on a shelf to collect dust. Some people pick up their favorite books and read them again, but many end up in piles.

One Imgur user decided instead of letting books go to waste, he would upcycle them into an incredible project. By stacking these unused and unloved books, he managed to completely transform his room into something you'll have to see to believe.

Scroll through below for a room designed for anyone who is crazy about books!

First, the DIY-er had to pick up a huge collection of unused books.

He drove to Maryland with his truck and picked up about 4,000 books of all shapes and sizes!

A company that specializes in providing certain types of books for shelves and decor, called Books By the Foot, made this feat possible.

Here, you can see the bare walls of the sitting room.

This might be a little hard to look at if you're a book lover like me, but some of the books had to be cut down to size just a little bit!

Keep in mind this is an upcycling project, and these books were just sitting in storage.

Next, he began the slow and arduous process of stacking the books and attaching them to the wall.

Using staples and 18 gauge finishing nails, his project began to take shape.

Can you spot any of your favorite authors amongst the book pile?

I wonder if he was tempted to crack any of these open before nailing them to the wall!

As you can imagine, this part of the process took an incredible amount of time and patience.

Here, you can see he began to stack his books around the TV mount.

In order to transition the books to the ceiling, he had to get a little creative.

He used pieces of material that are typically used for creating a coved drywall ceiling to connect the wall and the ceiling seamlessly.

Here, you can see he began to reposition the books over the transitioning materials.

He realized there weren't enough books to continue the same stacking method, so he began angling them.

By using a slate style pattern, he managed to completely cover the ceiling.

The different angle definitely gives the project some character as well!
