Kayleigh Gilbert is a mother of two young girls, and in the past few years, has experienced a roller coaster of emotions.
The Gilberts wanted to add to their family of four and were hoping to have a little boy. But Kayleigh is also a cancer survivor. Two years ago, she was diagnosed with leukemia.
Since then, she has undergone treatment for the condition. But doctors warned her that the eight months of chemotherapy may make her better, but would also make her infertile. She would only have a minuscule chance, less than one percent, of conceiving naturally.
After the chemotherapy, Kayleigh went into remission, and it seemed that normal life would resume. That's when she started to feel sick and tired. She was worried: had her cancer come back?
She went to her doctor, and after a few tests, Kayleigh was relieved to hear that she didn't have cancer again. But it's what the tests revealed instead that knocked her off her feet: she was pregnant!
Mom of two daughters, Kayleigh Gilbert, was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago. She underwent chemotherapy for eight months and was told she couldn't get pregnant again, crushing her and her family's dream to bring a little boy into the family.
Soon after the chemotherapy was over, the mother started to feel ill again. She was worried that the cancer had returned, but tests revealed that her symptoms were caused by a pregnancy!
Kayleigh was five months pregnant, and with a boy, no less!
She gave birth to her miracle son, Eilon, in June this year.
The mother is technically still in remission from her cancer, but couldn't be happier with the outcome of the tests.
Now, hopefully Kayleigh will totally recover from her health issues so she can spend as much time as possible with her husband, two daughters, and her new bundle of joy!
