According to reports, kids aren't the only ones who might be feeling a little sad that summer is over.
If your dog is used to playing with your kids all summer, and then they suddenly disappear, there's a good chance that your dog will feel something akin to loneliness.
One mother in California interviewed for this article has already seen the effects in her black lab puppy.
"'She stays in his room. If his door is closed, she will whine to get in,' Dianne Larson said. If the dog isn't in Tanner's room, she's at the front window watching for him."
The article goes on to mention a few great ways to keep your dog from having separation anxiety, which include making them a safe spot in the house and creating a new routine in the mornings before school starts.
It's interesting to think that our pets could have such a strong bond with the kids they love, that they actually feel their absence. What do you think? Have you ever noticed something like this in your own dog?
