An ordinary day at work almost turned into a nightmare within seconds for this iFLY employee in Houston, Texas.
Jesse "Tex" Leos was assisting a family of customers when the unthinkable happened. The father set his young toddler down on the counter, never expecting what came next.
The little boy couldn't find his balance before his dad let go of him, thinking he was standing on his own already. Suddenly, the toddler slipped backwards and began to plummet towards the ground — headfirst.
In a moment of true terror-turned-heroism, Jesse spotted the little guy falling to below the counter and swooped down to the floor. The dad noticed the skydiving instructor's quick movement and turned to try and clutch his son himself, but he was too late.
Thankfully, Jesse's left arm broke the young boy's fall, saving him from any potential injuries or pain.
In the video below, posted on February 17, 2017, Jesse, also known as "Tex," explains, "Just out of the corner of my eye, I saw the child fall and didn't have much time to think about it and just…. Next thing I know, I'm holding the kid, and me and the dad are looking at each other, and it worked out great."
Following the rescue, he gave a quick muscle flex and thumbs up to the surveillance camera that captured the entire moment. He shared the video with some of his friends, but didn't expect it to receive this much attention.
In the end, we're just glad that Jesse was in that exact spot and acted accordingly.
