For many teenagers, high school can be a time of constant stress, which is one reason why everyone looks forward to forgetting all of their worries and celebrating with their best friends on prom night.
However, for many students, the lead up until the big night can be the most nerve-wracking time of all. We've been seeing a lot of "Prom-posals" lately, in which teens go over the top to invite someone they care about to be their prom date. A few weeks ago, this story about a high-school football star who asked a girl with Down Syndrome to be his date for the big night went viral. I thought this awesome story would be impossible to top, but what happens in this next clip is even more incredible.
When Mike Pagano of Levittown, NY asked his friend Sarah Kardonsky to prom at a party, she felt horrible about turning the high-school senior with high-functioning autism down. Sarah had already made a pact with another friend back in her freshman year, but after learning that Mike had gone on to ask several other girls to be his date and they all said no, she knew she had to do something special.
Sarah asked a favor from some members of Mike's favorite team, The New York Jets, and was thrilled when they helped her give Mike the surprise of a lifetime. However, neither one of them ever thought their touching story would get them on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Check out what happens when Ellen invites Mike and Sarah on her show for her own surprise. This is guaranteed to make you smile!
