Did you ever get a chance to really sit down with your parents and grandparents to talk about their lives before you came along? They could have some of the most amazing stories you'll ever hear in your life. The only thing is that we all only have a limited amount of time to get the scoop firsthand. It's so important to take the time and learn about your family. You may not even realize how much of your identity is engrained in your family's history.
When Jimmy Fallon pulled out an old photo of his father-in-law, I was certainly not expecting the story to take the turns that it did. While he is so well known for his stories about celebrities, and his funny performances throughout his television career, this story he tells about his wife's father might be one of the most interesting tales to date.
Fallon's father-in-law was training with the U.S. Marine Corps in the 1960s, as many young men at that time were. But, a much smaller count of men went through what this man did, and lived to tell the tale.
You have to see when Fallon runs into the audience at the end of this amazing story… this little tidbit of his family history makes me wonder more about my own. What about you?
