Cop Gets Called Away From Lunch & He Accuses Fellow Officer Of Stealing Sandwich While Out

When it comes to keeping one’s energy up for a full day of crime fighting, you really can’t expect police officers to not stop and properly fuel themselves — even if the officer in question is a dog who is being accused of stealing a fellow officer’s sandwich.

This news story from KCAU 9 News shares how a K9 Officer named Ice was accused of nabbing a fellow officer’s sandwich from the breakroom and how a fun investigation took place that quickly went viral.

Officer Cade Barwig from the Wyandotte Police Department in Michigan was just sitting down to eat his lunch in the station’s breakroom when after a few bites he was called away to assist with an unruly inmate. Upon his return, Barwig was surprised to find that his salami sandwich was no longer sitting on the table — it had gone missing.

“Then I realized Ice was up here, Officer Ice. I knew that was kind of his track record,” Barwig explains.

Officer Ice is a black German shepherd who has been on the K9 unit for 11 years. He is a seasoned officer who has assisted several federal agencies during his career and has hundreds of drug busts under his dog belt.
