When the sun's out and the waves are crashing, that means it's time to hop in the surf. And when you live in Hawaii, you can do that year-round!
But naturally, splashing and surfing are more fun when you have a friend or two to share the day with.
And while human friends are great, no friends turn heads or melt hearts quite like the kind who can balance on a surfboard and paddle through the waves, even with tiny little hooves.
Yes, hooves.
That's because for surfer Kai Holt, the best surfing companion is his pig buddy, Kama, as well as Kama's son, Kama II, who enjoys catching rides on Holt's son's surfboard, taking father-son activities to an adorable end.
Surfing isn't just a human pastime, as we learned when we met the adorable surfing corgis, as well as other dogs of all kinds that like to ride the waves. But pigs? That's a new one.
Check out Kama and Kama II (and their humans) below, and see how these piggies have some serious fun in the sun.

Meet Kama and Son of Kama, also known as Kama II, and their human, Kai Holt.
They all live on the Hawaiian island of Oahu and spend their days soaking up the sun and sea air on Sandy Beach.

As you might imagine, a surfing pig caught some attention, and soon enough, Kama was a local celebrity and a beloved beach favorite.

Kama's love for the water also caught the attention of a few brands, including Local Motion and Hurley, who sponsor him.
So he gets to make a living doing what he loves, which is no small feat for a human, let alone a pig.

He's also sponsored by GoPro, who even built him a special harness so he can take videos on the go (with some help from those with opposable thumbs).

Besides surfing, Kama lives the good life with Holt and Holt's family, taking in the beautiful Hawaiian scenery and getting the occasional tasty vegetarian snack.

Kama also has a son, Kama II, who loves surfing and snuggling as much as Kama Sr.

And it looks like Kama II is just as popular with the locals. Being local celebrities, the two are always happy to make new friends.

Even if their new friends are a little shy at first.

Holt also brings his pig pals along to local festivals and events, where they're greeted with lots of enthusiasm.

And there's always time for a dip.

"Surfing is Hawaii's gift to the world," Holt says. "It's like true happiness, you know, and that's what this guy does. Everywhere he goes, he just makes people smile and laugh. He just brings joy to the world."

Kama arrived at the Holts' cabana earlier this year, and Holt discovered Kama's affinity for the water when the pig fell into the pool.

The Holts adopted Kama immediately, and have grown to love him like a family member. Kama even sleeps in bed with Holt.

Kama and Kama II have become mascots for Oahu's Sandy Beach, and have gained fans and followers from around the world.

And they seem just fine with that.

Check them all out in action in the video below, and see what a day at the beach with pigs looks like!
