Artist Creates Stunningly Lifelike Sculptures Of Food On A Teeny Tiny Scale

Looking at the photos of artist Kim Clough's work, you might start getting hungry.

That's because she creates the most scrumptious-looking crusty breads, rich and fluffy frostings, beautiful cakes, and juicy roasts you're likely to see outside of The Cooking Channel, and each one is a mouthwatering combination of colors and textures.

But we don't recommend trying to eat them. That's because none of Clough's creations are actually food. Instead, they're carefully sculpted from polymer clay.

They're also on a tiny scale. A 1:12 scale, to be exact, which means that every one inch in her sculpture corresponds to 12 inches in real life. They would fit perfectly in a dollhouse.

Their tiny size and incredible detail make Clough's sculptures nothing short of stunning in their craft. The extravagant and decadent foods would look right at home on the tables of the equally extravagant $8.5 million dollhouse that boasts all kinds of exquisite miniatures.

Check out some of her amazing miniatures below, but be warned: You might get hungry!

Kim Clough creates these mouthwatering miniature meals using polymer clay and paint.

She can create just about anything, from vegetables to roasted meats, and even liquids like this stew.

She carefully recreates the colors and textures of each kind of food with a stunning skill, making them look completely real — if you didn't know how tiny they actually are.

This cookie dough ice cream, complete with extra cookies, looks like the real thing.

But when you see it next to a dime for scale? The level of detail is crazy!

Clough sometimes mixes other materials, like resin, into the clay to get different textures, like the shiny, liquid interior of this chocolate lava cake.

But it's not liquid. This whole thing is perfectly solid!

Crumbly textures like the cake are created by lightly scoring the clay with a pin to rough it up. Chalk powder serves as the sugar dusting on top.

Clough can create just about anything — and she does!

This delicious-looking dessert spread was inspired by rustic country cuisine.

She also likes to create holiday-themed treats, like these tiny conversation heart cookies.

That's an actual conversation heart for scale.

And she can create some modern classics, too, like the ice cream truck staple, the Choco Taco.

This little scene shows a cake in the process of being frosted.

The urge to try and sample some of that frosting is really rather strong.

But don't worry. She creates some healthy options, too!

Even the simplest food, like this rustic loaf of bread, are so realistically rendered in clay that they're just beautiful to look at.
