Kim Kardashian Blames Her Son For Bringing COVID Home But Fans Think It’s Her Fault

By now, you probably know that Kim Kardashian's biggest professional pursuit in the last few years has been becoming a lawyer. On this week's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the 40-year-old mom of four met her first formal test to that end.

It was revealed on the show that Kim took and failed her "baby bar" exam. That meant that she would have to double down and study to take it again before moving forward with her studies. This probably wouldn't have been too big a feat if not for the fact that Kim and her four children all got COVID-19 in the midst of her studying.

This was surprising to fans, as it's the first time we learned the whole Kardashian-West family, at one point or another, had COVID. But the timeline also made people wonder whether Kim was fudging her story on how she thought the family got sick.

Kim Kardashian was planning to study hard to retake her baby bar exam in November until her family got rocked by COVID-19. According to Kim, it started when her son, Saint, tested positive.

"So, my little Sainty just tested positive for COVID," Kim is seen telling the doctor.

"He's doing okay, he doesn't really have major symptoms, he just had a bit of a fever."

They're fortunate Saint's symptoms were mild, but the illness quickly spread through the family, as Kim explained in her confessional.

"We test our kids once a week because they go to school and so they have to get tested in order to go to this little pod, so someone at school tested positive and my son was around that," she said.

"So Saint has COVID, and I'm just really worried about him. He's crying and coughing on me and I'm trying to not freak anyone out but now I have to figure out what we're going to do, especially with the three other kids."

"North is saying she's feeling sick, and I slept in bed with her last night, she tested negative but I'm going to test her again with me on Saturday," Kim told the doctor. That day, she and North both tested positive.

Kim tried to continue with her 12 hours of daily studying, but it was catching up with her.

"North and I kept feeling really sick, and we took tests right before I went to bed and when I woke up in the morning the tests came back positive," she explained on the show.

"We're supposed to do 12-hour study sessions every single day leading up until the test, and I've just been feeling so sick and so just awful with COVID that I can hardly even get out of bed and study."

Kim was dealing with more difficult symptoms as her test date loomed close. "If I start the test and I feel like I can't push through, and I feel really sick, I'll stop that," she added in her confessional.

"My health obviously comes first, I know that, but if I waited, I would have to wait another six months to take this test and I don't really want to do that. So I'm kind of clear on the decision that I'm going to take this test, and I'm just going to give it my best shot."

Kim made it through the test, but sadly didn't pass again. She's gearing up to take it again in June, as she shared with followers in an Instagram post after the episode aired.

"Unfortunately, I haven't passed yet, but I'm not giving up," she wrote.

"I'm preparing to take it again soon."

On the show, we see that Kim was struggling with whether or not to continue on the path toward becoming a lawyer. She thought of her late dad as she grappled with the issue. She felt she got the sign she needed when Kanye West gifted her a hologram of her late dad on her 40th birthday.

"Happy Birthday, Kimberly," the hologram said.

"I am so proud of the woman that you've become, Kimberly, and all that you've accomplished, all your hard work and other businesses you've built, are incredible, but most impressive is your commitment to become a lawyer and carry on my legacy. It's a long and a hard road, but it's worth it and I'm with you every step of the way. Keep doing what you're doing, Kimberly. You are a beautiful soul, know that I'm very proud of you and I'm always with you."

Kim was given that gift on her infamous 40th birthday trip. She rented a small private island and had her guests tested for COVID. Her explanation became a meme, and the move outraged a lot of people who were making sacrifices to get through the health crisis.

Now that we know Kim and the kids got COVID in November, many can't help but wonder if Kim's "intimate" maskless trip could have been the real culprit. Kim herself spoke out against the idea:

"False. Nobody caught Covid from the trip. Saint was the first to have it in our family and he caught it from school from another student who tested positive first. I then developed symptoms and got it a few days after he coughed on me while caring for him."

It's unlikely we'll ever know what really happened with Kim's bout with COVID. However, many people can't help but be frustrated by her and other celebrities who continued to take liberties while many of us were stuck in our homes, unable to see loved ones for months.
