One-Time Kindergartner Gets A Touching Note From His Teacher 30 Years Later

You know, they say that kids don’t start forming consistent memories until around the age of four or five, even if they remember earlier flashes here and there. I think that maybe that’s why kindergarten tends to make such a lasting mark on young minds!

Not only does it come along at an impressionable age, it’s also your entree into the big, exciting world of school. Even if education eventually loses its appeal, that first year is super thrilling for lots of kids, like this little cutie who decided to film her first day.

Personally, I have tons of memories of my very first classmates, and especially of my wonderful teacher, Mrs. Santos. But even though kindergarten makes a major impression on the kids, I never realized how big a deal it can sometimes be for the teachers.

While some teachers—like Sonya Romero, who fosters 2 of her students—step in to help out at-risk kids, others are just delighted to see what their one-time students achieve years down the road!

You would think that it might be challenging to remember one face among hundreds of past students, but that wasn’t the case for Lorly Schik. She recognized one-time student Cory Hepola immediately when she saw him reading the news nearly thirty years after he graduated from her classroom.

Watch the video below to see what happens after Mrs. Schik sends a letter to her former student, who never forgot his beloved kindergarten teacher!
