Drake Krainbrink was enjoying his 10th birthday party, when he realized that there was an extra surprise waiting for him.
His mom had hired a magician named Justin Impossible to entertain Drake, his brother, Zach, and all of their party guests. The devoted mom also had a trick up her own sleeve and planned something special with the magician, just for her sons.
As her sons were getting a kick out of the magic show, a blue curtain arrived onstage. The shiny fabric was vibrant, but not revealing.
Everyone watched the curtain, wondering what the next trick would produce behind it. Finally, thanks to some planning and a little bit of magic, the curtain fell to the floor, revealing the boys' military dad, Benjamin Krainbrink. The crowd roared in excitement, cheering on the safe return of a hero.
The military dad had been deployed for a year, serving as a First Sergeant in the Nevada Army Guard.
In the video below, posted on February 26, 2017, Benjamin explains, "I was super excited. I wasn't sure what kind of reaction I was going to get out of the birthday boy, Drake. I knew Zachary was going to be super excited. I almost thought Drake was going to [say], 'Dad, get out of the way. You're ruining my show!'"
Luckily, both of his boys were overjoyed.
Justin Impossible says, "I get a lot of special requests for birthday parties, but this was the first one of like, 'Hey, I want you to produce my significant other.'"
In the end, Justin and Benjamin did an outstanding job and made Drake's 10th birthday one he would never forget.
