They Stopped Traffic During Rush Hour — And What They Do Is Absolutely HYSTERICAL!

To make rush hour in LA a little less boring, Late Late Show host James Corden recently staged a mini-production of Grease right in the middle of a busy Los Angeles intersection as part of a brand new skit for the show.

Enlisting the help of a theater company, the comedian — dressed as Danny Zuko — headed to the intersection of Beverly Blvd. and Genesee Ave. during rush hour and performed the classic musical in the middle of traffic. The troupe performed selections from Grease, which tells the summer lovin' tale of Danny and Sandy, for 15 seconds at a time. Then, they'd bolt back to the sidewalk when the light turned green.

Corden, who was recently pranked by Katie Couric, put a smile on the faces of drivers stuck in LA's notorious traffic. People love a good flash mob — like when the cast of Les Misérables gave shoppers an impromptu performance — and this one is no exception. Everyone waiting at the light was seemingly entertained by the show.

At one point, Corden got really into his character, leaping on the hood of a stranger's car to belt lyrics from "Greased Lightning." The group also did rousing renditions of "Summer Nights," "We Go Together," and other fan-favorites from the movie. Each number was met with honks, which Corden interpreted as applause.
