Lazyboy Empire Racks Up A Body Count In Killer Video For ‘Vampire’

Do you prefer your romantic melodies with a bit of a spooky factor? Sure, Halloween is long over by now, but that doesn't mean you can't still cuddle up with your sweetheart this Valentine's Day with a creepy dance party blasting this bizarre song from Lazyboy Empire, "Vampire." The super-catchy tune reminds me of Michael Jackson's quintessential hit "Thriller," with affectionate lyrics like "gonna make you mine" bookended with the more ominous "I want to suck your blood." Aww, isn't that, um… sweet?

Of course, romanticizing the idea of a vampire relationship is nothing new for horror fans, but the video gives a much goofier look at the creatures of the night than we're used to seeing. Rather than a sleek, charming Dracula type, this guy looks like he feel straight out of the '90s with his baggy jeans and long gold necklace. We watch as he roams the streets of LA looking for his next victim and, as his body count racks up, he treats each of the poor things to a snazzy saxophone and dance performance. Not that they're alive to see it.

The band is pretty mysterious themselves. Attempting to look them up will give you only sparse results and no answer to the voices behind this strange ditty, making the whole thing all the more eerie. But, at the same time, I totally love the absurd video! And the song is totally already stuck in my head. I'd just be careful about attending any of the group's shows…
