Little Girl Plays Trumpet In Big Blue Dress

When 13-year-old Melissa Venema was invited to come on stage with André Rieu to play her trumpet, she was understandably a bit nervous.

Melissa began to play the recorder at age 6, and she eventually moved on to the trumpet two years later. The Dutch-born little girl managed to be accepted into a music school in Europe under several world-famous trumpeters. Over the years, she has perfected her craft and has travelled all over the world, stunning the crowds of multiple nations.

Joining with André Rieu's incredible band, this little girl walked on stage with the sort of confidence that only comes with raw talent. Even though she was a bit nervous, she took a deep breath and played a stunning rendition of the famous song "Il Silenzio," or "The Silence."

Often mistaken for the bugle call "Taps," this 1965 song became wildly successful all across the world. It has a somber feel to it but still has a spot of hope deep within; it is meant to fill everyone's hearts with faith and love for the important people in our lives.

This little girl's skill is truly something amazing to watch; the looks on the faces of everyone in the audience are honestly touching to see.

Please SHARE this beautiful song if you think all children should be given musical instruments when they're young!
