Local Mom Called A ‘Guardian Angel’ For Helping Victim Of Bus Crash

A local mom in Chesterfield County, VA, is being called a “guardian angel” after her maternal instinct prompted her to assist an injured victim of a bus crash.

Tina Johnson was on her way home when she saw the chaos — a charter bus overturned Sunday evening right outside of Richmond. More than 30 of the 50 student passengers were injured.

One of them was Radford University freshman Emma Wheat, 19, who had two broken ribs and a fractured collarbone. Thankfully, Johnson came to her aid.

Johnson ran to the accident and immediately sprang into action once she learned there were children on the bus, much like the heroic driver who rescued dozens of kids from a fire.

“I couldn’t leave her. I mean, it was very emotional,” Johnson told Richmond’s WTVR as tears filled her eyes. “I looked into her eyes, and I just saw that she was scared.”

In turn, Johnson stayed by Wheat's side until the ambulance came. She even said a prayer for the hurt teenager.

Below, we see the two ladies reunite after the terrifying crash, and Wheat's gratitude is clearly understood.

"I am so thankful she stayed with me until the paramedics arrived," Wheat told the news station.
