When I was a kid, I dreamed of living in a mansion or palace that would rival the Palace of Versailles — but the older I get, the more I think, "That actually sounds like too much work."
Bigger isn't always better as the Tiny House Movement consistently proves. I've seen tiny houses built into the shapes of crosses and some built into holes in the ground. They never cease to impress.
A friend recently sent me photos of the rehearsal cabin of Dutch musician and entertainer Hans Liberg, which really takes the movement to a whole new level. Designed by Piet Hein Eek, this impressive cabin allows Liberg to retreat to a peaceful sanctuary to practice, write, and record his music.
Liberg lives on land under the protection of historic monuments. He is not permitted to build any solid building on the site, so wheels allow it to be moveable.
It's an incredible space that has to be seen to be believed.

When one first approaches this cabin structure, it appears to be nothing but stacked logs.
The logs are actually placed on a metal frame which sits atop wheels. Though the log cabin house certainly has its place in the woods, it can easily be transported.
And if the inside seems like it could be claustrophobic, fear not. The cabin features several windows that open and provide beautiful views of the woods.
The interior, also designed by Piet Hein Eek, features plywood that's been painted a serene light blue and has all the features that Liberg requires. It's large enough for his keyboard and guitar, and there's a sitting space in addition to his work area.
The amazing tiny-house-turned-studio sits at the edge of Liberg's property. It's a welcome work sanctuary where he can clear his mind and relax. I think I want one.
