The weather is quickly changing, and as it grows colder, remember that leaving your dog alone and unattended in the car will cause him or her great discomfort, especially if its for too long.
U.K. Photographer Martin Usborne has created an incredible series of images titled "The Silence of Dogs in Cars," which depicts the loneliness, sadness, and fear your dog may be experiencing if left by herself in your vehicle, waiting desperately for you to return.
Martin's photos were taken with the utmost respect and care towards these animals, so don't worry, none of the dogs pictured were left unattended or unwatched by him.
He took them as a way to re-experience the feelings he had as a child being left alone in a car, even though he was never abandoned.
As Martin writes so eloquently, "There is life in the darkest places inside us."

Dear Human, I don't know if you can hear me...

...as I can't see or smell you here, and I'm beginning to worry...

I miss the warmth of your body, of your arms around me, your hands gently stroking my soft fur...

I'm hearing noises, but none of them sound like you. I feel the fear beginning to creep in...

...along with the cold of this lonely night.

Where are you, my friend?

What was that strange noise? Is someone coming to take me away from you?

When are you coming back, if ever?

I'm starting to wonder if you'll ever return to me...

My stomach tightens as I imagine never seeing you again, never hearing your voice say my name.

What would I do without you?

Who would be there to play with me? To rub my belly and scratch me behind the ears?

Who would feed me treats? Who would feed me at all?

Please come back...I miss you so much.

Is that you, human friend? Are you back?

I can't tell you how glad and relieved I am to see you! This is exactly where I want to be, forever side by side with you...
