What would you do if you woke up in the middle of the night with a stranger in your bed? Maybe you wouldn’t be completely terrified once you discovered that the stranger was none other than a furry friend in need of some shelter and cuddles.
This video posted by CBS News tells the story of a couple who woke up to find a dog in their bed who wasn’t a part of their family, and how a viral social media post helped to locate the dog’s parents.
Julie Johnson was asleep in her bed for the night with her husband Jimmy when she got up to use the restroom and noticed a dog was resting beside them. She didn’t really think anything of it at the time, as the couple from Ocoee, Tennessee, have dogs who routinely sleep with them, so she just got back into bed and went to sleep.
“As the sun was coming through the curtains, my husband woke up and realized that the dog in between us was not our dog,” Julie explains.
Initially, Julie worried that perhaps the dog got inside their home with an intruder, but she soon realized that the gentle dog was simply lost and needed to be reunited with her family.

Julie knew she needed to do something proactive to try to locate the dog’s mom and dad, so she decided to take some pictures of the dog and post them on Facebook.
Fortunately, Julie’s post went viral, and Nala’s parents saw the post, as they had lost their precious four-legged loved one during a walk.
