When a loved one passes away, the family has a few options on how to handle the remains. Many of us are familiar with making this decision from experience.
Nowadays, many people find that their best option is cremation. This way, their deceased loved one can still be present as ashes in an urn in the family home, or at another location if so desired.
Usually, these remains aren't moved much once they find their home. But for some reason that remains unknown, one man's wife's ashes ended up sitting unattended on the corner of a street in Flint, MI.
Luckily, a stranger stumbled upon them, and made it her personal mission to find the relatives of this individual, who passed away two years earlier.
Phyllis Kelley was indeed shocked by the find, but knew that it was important enough to bring the urn home. She immediately set out to find anyone who could help her search by posting about her find on social media.
Kelley's actions didn't just come from goodwill: they came from a deeply personal place, as she doesn't have the money to bring her own mother's ashes home.
But luckily, just one month after her search began, the husband of the deceased woman contacted her. She will be able to reunite him with his wife's remains.
And though he is still unsure as to how they ended up on the corner of a street two hours away from home, he's sure to bring them home with tears in his eyes.
Please SHARE if Kelley's mission warmed your heart, and if you would do the same if you found such a priceless object in the street.
