Shy 7-Year-Old’s Face Lights Up When Her Wish To Be A Police Officer Comes True

Over a year ago, 7-year-old Sierra Shank was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It was then that her nurse recommended her to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Although Shank might come off a bit shy and timid, the wish she made was quite the contrary. This adorable young girl's Make-A-Wish included becoming a police officer for a day.

Now “to-be” wishes aren’t the easiest to attain because they require a bit more work and maneuvering. But when the Spokane Police Academy heard they could help, they were thrilled.

Sierra Shank’s day started with testing for and later graduating from the police academy. After training and taking an oath promising to protect and serve, she later arrested a robbery suspect.

This rather unique wish of hers regarded Sierra Shank as a brave fighter. Shank’s fight with cancer and her daring wish, are clear examples of Sierra’s fighter-like mentality.

It was beautiful being able to see the police officers and people in the video support Sierra’s wish, and truly show up for her in a supportive way.

The amount of care and effort that the Spokane Police Department put into making Sierra’s wish a dream come true, was really inspiring to be a part of through screen.
