Over the month of November, TD Bank surprised 24 customers with inspiring and impactful giving ideas to help their communities. Mike from London Ontario, has been wheelchair bound for the last 18 years, was one of the lucky participants chosen to receive $30,000 to bring his idea to life.
Mike wanted help residents in his community have better accessibility to their homes. Over the course of 24 hours, he was able to give them back their independence. One woman, unable to leave her house in over three years, was completely shocked when Mike and his team revealed they'd be building a wheelchair accessible ramp for her to easily get in and out of her house. She broke down in tears, calling Mike her "angel."
Within just 24 hours, he was able to make a huge difference in his community and helping those in need. This isn't the first time TD Bank has paid it forward. A few months ago, TD Bank in Canada transformed a few of their ATMs into "Automated Thanking Machines" and created some very special and life-changing moments for special customers.
