Losing a pet can be a devastating experience. Your dog, or cat, or other furry or feathery friend is just like any member of your family. You care and provide for that animal like you would for a child. You love your pet, and he or she loves you in return!
So, you can only imagine how upset one Jacksonville man was when he realized that his dog, named Daisy, had gone missing.
The man's son had accidentally left the gate open, and the dog was able to escape. The frantic family searched for her for weeks without a result. They were on the verge of giving up when the family's babysitter showed Daisy's owner a picture.
It was a picture of a dog at an animal shelter who was going to be put up for adoption at an event.
The photo had the man racing to the event. He realized that it wasn't just any dog in the picture he was shown, but his very own Daisy!
He arrived at the shelter, and the pooch couldn't be happier to see him. It was clear then and there that the two weren't strangers.
Even shelter employees noticed that the dog they had named "Sophia" was unusually active, jumping up and down as soon as she saw her owner, despite having been quiet and terrified in the shelter.
Please SHARE if you're happy these two could be happily reunited, and to encourage other dog owners to microchip their pets for added safety and security!
