Jennifer and Steven may not agree on much, but they agree on the fact that their relationship isn't perfect. In the four years that they've been dating, they've broken up quite a few times. Oh, and there were three (or four, depending on who you ask) engagements in there, too.
Jennifer says that Steven is an abusive pathological liar and a sex addict. He's proposed anywhere from three to six times, in her opinion, though he insists it was just three. All the rings used in Steven's proposals were fake.
It was at the last proposal in Cozumel when things got dicey. Steven said he bought her a new, real engagement ring and proposed. He then said she became "combative," so he took it back.
Steven described how Jennifer, whom he claims is an alcoholic, told the boat's captain that he stole the ring and attempted to have him arrested on board.
"Jennifer and I have a relationship that is sometimes very good, and sometimes, awful," Steven told Dr. Phil.
"We are in love, but the combative, toxic, volatile nature is just incredible."
It's unclear if Dr. Phil can save this union, but it's astounding to hear how differently Steven and Jennifer see their time together.
