Residents of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, claimed that one of their neighbors had been verbally harassing them for years before. But finally he was punished for his actions.
One particular video surfaced from back in 2017, in which 45-year-old Edward Cagney Mathews hurled racial slurs at a woman who accused him of harassing her for more than a year — yet local police ignored her multiple reports.

“It's just unacceptable that this guy could be around here for four years terrorizing people of color. Terrorizing people period,” Gary Frazier, an activist, told NBC10.
Despite other previous complaints about and investigations into Cagney Mathews, the charges were always dismissed in one way or another.
But finally, a video that went viral made it impossible for police to ignore what was going on. They said they finally had enough evidence to charge Cagney Mathews with a crime.
