When it comes to decorating my home, I’m always searching for ways of upcycling items to really spruce up my decor — without spending a lot of money. Recently, I got inspired to transform my set of round mirrors (instead of buying new ones), and I am very happy with how they turned out.
A while back, I bought the set of mirrors in various sizes that I turned into fun wall art. There’s nothing wrong with these mirrors, it just seemed a little too plain for my taste. After a while, I wanted to add a little more style to them, and make them look and feel new again.
Using clear round marbles, like the ones we use to play with as kids, I decorated the outer rim of one the mirrors to create a unique and eye-catching border. It's so incredibly easy to do this in 30 minutes or less.
The great thing about mirrors is that no matter where you put them, they make a space look bigger and can really open up a room. And a stylish one can really make the room pop! Decorative mirrors do double the duty as beautiful pieces of art.
This is such a cute DIY mirror project that's so easy to follow and will make the perfect addition to your living room or bedroom.
Check out just how easy it is to make this DIY marble mirror at home with this step-by-step tutorial below.
1. Gather your supplies.
2. Glue the smaller mirror on top of the bigger mirror.
3. Starting from the inner edge of the mirror, dab hot glue directly on the glass.
4. Quickly stick the marble onto the glue. Continue around the circle.
5. Begin a second row of marbles on the mirror, repeating steps 2 and 3.
Depending on the size of the mirror, you can do many "layers" of marbles around the mirror to create a thicker framed edge. This is up to you — just make sure you have enough marbles to make it completely around the mirror.
When you're done, let everything dry completely before picking up to hang.
6. Attach the mirror to the wall with hangers.
How great do these mirrors look? I absolute love them! It's a total upgrade and adds so much more personality to my decor.
After creating one mirror, I opted to dress my wall with multiple mirrors of varying sizes. These circular mirrors elevate the space and add a sense of openness.
